A Splash of Gold

Black and White with a splash of color is one of the classes I teach at the Scrap It Southern Style events.

The upcoming Phoenix event will be my first time sharing the splash of gold version.

A White Daisy top folding card base is the canvas for the 5" x 3 3/4" Black mat. Two strips of gold shimmer trim is added first, with a White Daisy and Black Trillium cut from the CTMH Flower Market Cricut cartridge.

Sending Smiles is the sentiment found on one of the Flower Market coordinating stamp sets.

A little ribbon bow, of course it is black with a splash of gold, finishes this card off.

Hip to Be Square at Heart2Heart

It is another Heart2Heart challenge and this week we are adding squares to our projects.

My project starts with a little Cricut Design Space magic.

Technique:

Use the 'X' and 'Y' positioning found under edit when placing objects for attaching or slicing.

Look for a future tutorial post.

Adding Sunflowers in the Enchantment color scheme of Goldrush, Saffron, Fern and Poppy with a little Cocoa, adds to the Fall theme.

The Rustic ribbon collection has the great jute/burlap stringed ribbon!!

A few sequins finishes the look.

One of the sunflowers is actually inside, giving a little fun surprise when you open the card.

Enchanted September

Do you love the colors of Fall? All oranges, browns, reds? 

September will be FULL of Enchantment, our Close To My Heart color palette Enchantment will be featured throughout September.

And one of the first Enchantment FUN projects is this Fall themed card.

The Rustic Home ribbon pack (Z3292) is full of some of the best Fall inspired ribbon.

And the FUN font of the stamp set All the Thanks (B1536) add some whimsy to this card.

Flip Flap Fun for Upcoming Events

I love being a vendor at the Scrap It Southern Style retreats!! Creating classes for each event is so FUN and with the changing in the packaging of the Flip Flaps, I had to do some changing of one of my classes.

What better way to introduce someone to Close To My Heart, create their own pattern paper. In this class each person will stamp using all three of the new Flower Market Cricut cartridge bundle stamp sets. A background stamp to create coordinating pattern paper, you are never without pattern paper if you have stamps!

Here is the layout with the flip flaps closed, one 5" x 7" on the left hand side and three 3" x 4" on the right side.

Here is the layout with the flip flaps open -- a spot for 17 photos or 16 photos and a journal spot.

White Daisy base page, Ruby cardstock, ruby ink, black cardstock, a couple of Cricut images.

Heart2Heart Boys Will Be Boys Challenge

A great time to use the NEW Enchantment Fundamental paper collection to create a great Boys inspired layout. My boys are my grandbaby boys or the Littles as I call them. This layout will be perfect for some black and white photos (coming soon) of my Littles.

The silver glitter paper just popped on the Peacock background. Fun with Fundamentals Finished Project

 Enchantment Fundamental and thin dies fun ended with a birthday layout.

The second version began to reminded me Main Frame -- Charmed recipe from the Reflections how to book.

Using Reflections, I found a second page for my layout.











The thin dies work so well with our glitter paper. Celebrate is doubled with Black cardstock on bottom and Black glitter paper on top.

A little birthday humor was added to the center from a Cricut cartridge in my stash.

And, of course, there had to be stamping!! The candles and birthday hat are stamped using Wise Guy Birthday (C1662) which coordinates with Artistry. 

Fundamentals are so much FUN!!

Florence Featured Paper Suite for August

The elegance of Tuscany, Florence has the feel of early Fall and I for one am ready for some cool weather. The Florence paper suite will be featured throughout August.

Enchantment Fundamentals and Thin Dies

I shared this photo during a recent Online event and it got me to thinking, 'That really looks good together'. 

Which led to this layout in the works

Enchantment Fundamentals (Z3254) with the Celebrate word thin die (Z3256) add in Sapphire and Saffron cardstock on a White Daisy cardstock base.

Heart2Heart features Florence Paper Suite

This week at Heart2Heart Challenge blog we are featuring the Florence paper suite. This is the last suite from the Seasonal Expression 2 Idea Book, which retires at the end of August.

My Heart2Heart Florence inspired project is one of the cards you may create using the Florence Workshop Your Way.

The stamp set is A Bunch of Love (C1647) cut out using the coordinating thin die (Z3251).

I used the waterbrush and a little ink squeezed into the lid of the ink pad to watercolor the flowers. Poppy, Saffron, and Flaxen ink were the ink colors.

And there has to be a little bling so I added a few of the yellow sequins from the Florence sequin collection.

All month I will be featuring artwork using the Florence paper suite -- get yours before it is GONE!!




And do not forget the inside of the card, I used one of the NEW Annual Inspiration Idea Book 2016/17 stamp sets, Birthday Sparkles (B1537).
