Heart2Heart Challenge Anything But A Card

This week over at Heart2Heart Challenge Blog, we will be sharing Anything But A Card. My project is a candy bar wrapper.

EASY PEASY is what I love and this is so easy!!

Jolly Holiday (C1654)

Instructions:
5" x 5 1/4" Lagoon cardstock (score at 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 on each end of the 5 1/4 sides)
4 3/4" x 5 1/4" City Sidewalks Wreath pattern piece (score at 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 on each end of the 5 1/4 sides)
Jolly Holiday (C1654) stamp set
Bakers Twine
White Daisy cardstock 1 1/4" circles (cut from Artistry Cricut cartridge)
Heavy duty adhesive (I used red line tape)

Attach the pattern piece to the Lagoon cardstock leaving a border at the top and bottom, matching the score lines. Using the heavy duty adhesive, attach it to one of the 5 1/4" sides.

Fold around the candy bar.

Add tag or sentiment piece of your choice.

FUN with Shapes and Rockin' heARTs

At one of our Cricut team trainings, Carol Barfield, asked if we could create a card using the scrolly heart shape.

By welding the shape in a rectangle frame, it turned out pretty cute and I saw a great card to share at our November team training.

Stamping the sentiment Believe from the Jolly Holiday (C1654) stamp set. I love when a stamp set can be used in many ways.

I used both the cutout and the pieces to create TWO versions of the card.




And a great inside sentiment was created with the This & That (C1667).

All That Glitters just for Girl Scouts

I was honored to create a card class for a friend's crafty girl scout troop. These 10 year olds wanted to create some Christmas cards that included stamping and embossing.

In looking through my stash, I found some glitter paper and added that to my favorite Christmas paper, City Sidewalks, well it is my favorite for November. Added some White embossing powder, Versamark ink, thin dies, and a few Cricut cuts and some FUN!

These cards are based on workshop that Close To My Heart shared with us (they love to make our job easier). The present is a stand alone thin die (no coordinating stamp set), the ribbon is from Flower Market Cricut cartridge and the wreath is from City Sidewalks digital images.

Don't you love a stamp set that gives you ALL you need to create your project? Very Merry is perfect, it has sentiments for the outside and sayings for the inside -- a complete package! The Joy is great for embossing and there are some images just ready for coloring!!

City Sidewalks Third Layout

The City Sidewalks Workshop Your Way makes creating layouts so EASY PEASY! Here is the final layout you can create using the downloadable guide. 

Again, as I did in the earlier layout, instead of using the full sheet of Willow B&T (CTMH for pattern paper), I cut it down and attached it to a White Daisy piece, which I used as the base pages.

I love the Lagoon additions to this layout!

Both stickers and glitter die cuts come in the Workshop Your Way as do the red enamel dots!! All you need in one package!!

You can use the City Sidwalks coordinating Complements for the title and for embellishments.

Using the Picture My Life cards makes journaling easy, don't you love lines!!

City Sidewalks Featured Paper Collection

Getting ready to preserve those Christmas memories is easy when you have the City Sidewalks paper collection. Cranberry (red) and Willow (green) with the pretty added blue hue of Lagoon makes this a very versatile collection.

Completing the first two layouts from the Workshop Your Way was easy peasy. Using the downloadable cutting diagram, I whipped up these two layouts in record time. Adding the bling from the coordinating Complements and the use of Washi tape and zip strips (the top piece of CTMH pattern paper) are an easy way to add a title and the pop your layout needs. The cool thing, you can mix and match to meet your needs. 

Add a quick journaling box using the Picture My Life sheet of pattern paper. Cut these PML cards apart to use them on layouts, cards, or in your pocket page scrapbook.

The second layout uses more of the Cranberry (red) with little bows and a great big sparkly, glittered Merry Christmas.

And because I love that word puzzle pattern paper, I changed the layout by cutting out the piece I needed from that sheet of pattern paper instead of using the whole sheet. Now I have a little leftover to play with in another project. To do this, I subtracted the measurement of the houses pattern paper which was 4" from 12" the size of the paper, making the word puzzle piece needed 8"x12". I attached the 4" x 12" houses pattern piece and the 8"x12" word puzzle piece to a 12" x 12" White Daisy sheet of cardstock. This is a great way to use up a piece of cardstock that has been damaged, make it the base, no one will see it as it will be totally covered.

Heart2Heart Unique Colors of Christmas

This week over at Heart2Heart, we are sharing some alternative color schemes for Christmas.

My color scheme is our NEW Pansy and Willow (purple and green). I wanted to add some texture by using Pansy pigment ink and clear embossing powder on the Pansy cardstock.

And can you believe that the little starburst stamp is from this month's Stamp of the Month, New Year's Cheer. This stamp set is so versatile.

A little silver trim and a Thistle polka dot bow add some pop.

The Season of Magic (C1665) warmest wishes sentiment is stamped in Archival Black, giving it a dark, deep color. Adding a little more pop, I added color to the holly leaves with watercolor pencil.

New Year's Cheer Stamp of the Month

November's Stamp of the Month, New Year's Cheer (S1611), is a mixture of images that will easily work in many projects. A beautiful starburst for a Christmas card, cocktail glasses for that night out with the girls, an invitation, a striped tag and a polka dot tag. Throughout the month, I will share more ideas.

Today I will start with my take on the sample card in the Holiday Expression catalog.

Instead of gold, I used Sea Glass. Pigment ink with clear embossing powder created cute shiny glasses and the bow.

A little leftover Jeepers Creepers black with small white polka dots.
